Post trail name/numbers
Not even sure where this should be posted but ive been trying to figure out how to name or come up with a system for my trails. Certain things came natural like middle ridge then I tried to give it some cool name but means nothing to anyone and describe it as middle ridge. Im kinda at a loss most trails dont have some explanation name as middle ridge. I saw stufff about rush saying same number but a different color. Is there a simple explanation behind that? Numbering trails does seam easier. Is there a good system for that or any info ideas?????

If I recall correctly, the various colored trail numbers in Harlan County, KY at Black Mountain indicate the degree of difficulty of that particular trail.

Rush is basically 2 trail systems side by side(road splits the property in half. We use white numbers for one side and orange for the other side. This is to keep people from using the wrong side of the map and getting lost.

Green is easy, blue is moderate and red is hard, red with a name is very hard

We have a hard time coming up with names too, and if you lead it up to other people, you can get some pretty stupid names. We use a plastic post with vinyl numbers with a sticker that gives the trail rating and even the named trails have numbers because it would be difficult to get the name on the map
