Post subject:  T4 4wd trouble?

I have a 2013 T4. I have noticed that it is difficult to get into diff lock. Even on flat ground I may have to cycle the switch 4-5 times to get it to go into diff lock. Likewise, it doesn't seem to want to come out of 4wd. Even on flat ground in neutral, the 2wd and 4wd lights will alternate back and forth and it ends up staying in 4wd half the time. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a specific procedure for taking a T4 in/out of 4wd that I don't know about? Or is it similar to the diff lock on my truck where you have to drive forward some for it to unlock? I've always had ATV's and they've been mechanical 4wd via a lever. Any help is appreciated.

Eb and Jon both had this problem too. Only way we could get Ebs to go out of diff lock was to shut the t4 off. Jons is stuck in diff lock and won't come out period.

I don't really have any problem getting it to come out of diff lock once i finally get it to go in. It will go back to regular 4wd, just doesn't want to go back to 2wd after that.

I'm almost at 600 miles I think and haven't had a problem.

I've never had trouble getting into 4wd or diff lock. Getting out is usually a little more challenging. I usually shift to neutral and then switch to 2wd and then switch to reverse.

I figured out that if I let it coast forward a foot or two and wiggle the steering wheel, it goes back into 2wd.

It seems after you get some miles on it everything loosens up a bit and it works better.

I have had to wiggle the bars on my Grizz to get it out of 4-lock. No issues getting in though.

I know in some 4x4 trucks when shifting from 4x back to 2x it is best to back up a few feet as the gears may be under a bit of pressure. The coasting thing is probably similar to the reverse, it releases the pressure a bit.
